So many of us are going to be hosting family members over the holidays. The last thing you want to worry about is a pest infestation right at a time when you have friends and family over.

While pests may decrease in numbers in winter, there are still pests trying – or currently living – indoors. That makes this a great time to make sure that you’re getting a pest control treatment, before the guests come.

Why Get Pest Treatment Now?

Easily the best reason to consider getting pest control before your guests come is that you don’t want your guest to see that your property has pests, or to deal with the stress of pests on your property. Even if you do not think you have pests, or you’re unlikely to, a protective barrier around your home can make sure that there are no unwanted surprises.

But there’s are a few other reasons to consider pest control now as well. These include:

• Pests Live Before They Die – After a pest treatment, pests do not immediately perish. They often come out of their hiding spots and crawl around before they pass away, at least for a few days after the pest treatment has been completed. If you find you have pests right before your guests come, it may be a bit too late, as they may see the pests crawling around as they maneuver over the pest control treatments.
• Guests Bring Pests – Another issue that can occur this time of year is that guests may accidentally bring pests over. Though it’s not that common, pests could be hitchhikers with your guests’ belongings. Interior pest control helps ensure any pests on the property do not survive or spread.
